1. Product Description

The OFSCN® Chirped Fiber Bragg Grating (CFBG) is an optical passive component fabricated using UV Phase Mask technology. It involves writing a periodic refractive index modulation structure into the core of a photosensitive fiber. Unlike standard uniform FBGs, the grating period (pitch) of a CFBG varies along the fiber axis, either linearly or non-linearly.

This unique structure provides the OFSCN® CFBG with a wide spectral reflection characteristic and specific Group Delay Dispersion properties. The product is widely used for dispersion compensation in optical communication, pulse stretching and compression in high-power fiber lasers, and in distributed/wideband fiber sensing applications. We offer highly customized services to optimize grating parameters based on the customer's specific application (e.g., sensing, telecommunications, or laser systems).

2. Key Features

  • High-Precision Manufacturing: Fabricated using mature UV Phase Mask inscription technology, ensuring excellent spectral consistency.
  • Broad Bandwidth Capability: Typical bandwidth of 16nm, with support for deep customization.
  • High Reflectivity: Typical reflectivity is greater than 90%, effectively ensuring signal strength.
  • Flexible Fiber Options:
    • Polyacrylate Coating: Suitable for standard temperature environments, offering high cost-performance.
    • Polyimide Coating: Suitable for high-temperature (up to 300℃) or harsh environments, offering high mechanical strength and a thinner coating.
  • Environmental Adaptability: Standard version meets industrial temperature ranges; High-Temperature version supports up to 300℃.
