It involves writing a periodic refractive index modulation structure into the core of a photosensitive fiber. Unlike standard uniform FBGs, the grating period (pitch) of a CFBG varies along the fiber axis, either linearly or non-linearly.
This unique structure provides the OFSCN® CFBG with a wide spectral reflection characteristic and specific Group Delay Dispersion properties.
