This article introduces the working temperature range of the OFSCN® 800-degree Celsius capillary seamless steel tube fiber bragg grating temperature sensor (FBG thermometer), including the values for its maximum high-temperature and low-temperature resistance. It also discusses the methods and principles used to determine the working temperature range of fiber bragg grating temperature sensors, including the stainless steel material and femtosecond fiber bragg grating used.

The working temperature range of fiber bragg grating sensors is mainly determined by the fiber bragg grating (FBG) and the sensor packaging material. Therefore, analysis needs to be conducted from these two aspects.

The OFSCN® 800-degree Celsius capillary seamless steel tube fiber bragg grating temperature sensor (FBG thermometer) developed by DCYS adopts a unique stainless steel seamless tube patent packaging technology. It has a simple structure with no glue or other auxiliary materials. The sensor consists only of the fiber bragg grating (FBG) and the stainless steel seamless tube. Therefore, the working range can be determined by analyzing these two materials.

For the OFSCN® 800-degree Celsius capillary seamless steel tube fiber bragg grating temperature sensor (FBG probe), the working temperature range in the low-temperature region is -269 degrees Celsius, and in the high-temperature region, it is up to +800 degrees Celsius, with short-term tolerance up to +1000 degrees Celsius.

The fiber bragg grating used in this model is fabricated using femtosecond laser point-by-point writing (Femtosecond FBG) and can withstand temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius without degradation. The outermost packaging material is a special high-temperature-resistant alloy capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1000 degrees Celsius.

After testing, the OFSCN® 800-degree Celsius capillary seamless steel tube fiber bragg grating temperature sensor exhibits a working temperature range of -269 degrees Celsius in the low-temperature region and up to +800 degrees Celsius in the high-temperature region, with the ability to reach +1000 degrees Celsius in shorter durations. It should be noted that the high-temperature range is based on measured values, while the low-temperature range is based on theoretical values.
